Uitzoeken welk systeem er op onze server loopt onder Ubuntu.
CVS is een Concurrent Versions Systeem. Er bestaan vele versie systemen. Een ander bekend systeem is het Subversion systeem. Beiden kunnen binnen Eclipse worden gebruikt. Ondanks suggesties dat Subversion beter zou zijn kan ik eigenlijk nergens op het internet doorslaggevende argumenten vinden. En omdat CVS bovendien geïntegreerd is in Eclipse en in de helppagina’s van Eclipse gebruik ik CVS.
CVS wordt onderhouden door ximbiot. Het bestaat uit een gedeelte dat op de server moet worden geïnstalleerd en clients. De clients zijn automatisch al geintegreerd in Eclipse waardoor er enkel aan de serverkant moet worden geinstalleerd. Dat wil zeggen, ook dat hoeft niet op mijn Fedora10 server, want het is al geïnstallleerd. Op een Ubuntu server is het ook niet echt ingewikkeld, doe: apt-get update en apt-get install cvs. De volgende stap is de configuratie. Doe
