AM2302 Humicap digital temperature and humidity module is a digital output signal containing a calibrated temperature and humidity combined sensor. It uses a dedicated digital modules capture technology and the temperature and humidity sensor technology to ensure that products with high reliability and excellent long-term stability. Sensor includes a capacitive humidity sensing element and a high-precision temperature measurement devices, and with a high-performance 8-bit microcontroller connected. Deze sensor heeft een redelijk trage updatetijd en zou niet vaker dan om de 2 seconden moeten worden afgevraagd.
Deze sensor kan er niet tegen als hij te lang in een 100%+ luchtvochtigheid wordt gebruikt is gebleken in de couveuse. De luchtvochtigheid afdeling van de sensor maakt dan kortsluiting en geeft uitsluitend nog 99.9% luchtvochtigheid als antwoord.
Als je de losse sensor gebruikt dan moet je een 4,7kΩ of een 10kΩ weerstand monteren tussen de VCC en de DATA pin als optrekweerstand. Echter de DHT sensoren bevatten al een optrekweerstand (info).

Om sketches te kunnen maken met deze sensor is het noodzakelijk om 2 libraries (bibliotheken) te installeren in de IDE die niet standaard wordt geïnstalleerd.

De ondergenoemde DHT library werkt enkel indien ook de Adafruit sensor abstraction layer is geïnstalleerd. De installatie kan vanuit de IDE via Tools / Manage Libraries.. Zoek naar Adafruit Unified Sensor by Adafruit en druk vervolgens op de button install (github}.
