Beschrijving
Een Arduino wordt het liefst gevoed met 9Vdc op de voedingsstekker of met USB. Het kan voor bepaalde projecten (> 0,2 ampère) toch nodig zijn om een (eventueel extra) 5Vdc voeding te gebruiken.
Let op: dit is een schakelende voeding en een schakelende voeding mag nooit zonder belasting draaien, want dan zal hij kapot gaan door oververhitting. Op deze regeling bestaan uitzonderingen.
| Smelly |
| De robot Smelly bevat een aantal gassensors. Deze hebben een hoog energieverbruik omdat iedere sensor een verwarmingselement bevat. Om nauwkeurige metingen te krijgen moet al het vocht door de verwarmingselementen uit de sensor worden verwijderd. Dit kan enkele uren duren. Dit kost tot maximaal 5 watt per sensor. Bij 9 sensors kost dat ongeveer 50 watt. Bij een spanning van 5Vdc betekent dit dat we een voeding van minimaal 10 ampère nodig hebben. Dit vereist een externe voeding want een Arduino of een USB aansluiting kan dit soort vermogens niet leveren. In dit project wordt de voeding ook gebruikt om de Arduino te voeden. Het wordt normaal gesproken afgeraden om een 5Vdc voeding te gebruiken voor een Arduino vanwege mogelijke rimpels in de voeding. In dit project hebben we daar echter geen last van want alle verbruik is constant. |
